Manager, Credit Controller

The Opportunity:

Shutterstock is seeking an experienced accounting professional to take on the role of Manager, Credit Controller, reporting to the VP, Shared Services, to help support the continued expansion of the South Korean market. The role will have a broad scope of responsibilities for aspects of financial and accounting activities across the Asia Pacific markets.

This position requires a highly motivated individual who is self-motivated, able to work independently and with rapid changes in direction and environment. The successful candidate will be customer oriented and results driven.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the Credit Control and Collections requirements for the Korean market and third-party partner.
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure customer account statements are accurate.
• Perform cash application requirements for assigned customers and geographies.
• Prepare journal entries required to achieve monthly, quarterly and year-end close deadlines.
• Oversee and liaise with third party Accounting firms on customer invoicing, accounts payable, and treasury matters.
• Partner with Sales and Finance team members on the credit and collections requirements for Korea and the Asia Pacific market.
• Thorough understanding of accounting, treasury and financial reporting functions.

• Work collaboratively with all functions (Sales, Legal, Tax, Finance, Tech Product).
• Plan and oversee the implementation and/or improvement of processes, credit controls and policies.
• Special projects as assigned by senior management.

Requirements:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA)
• + 10 years post qualified experience and min 5 years of Credit Controllership experience in a multinational, multicurrency company.
• Previous experience in public accounting, audit, and tax would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles including a minimum level of familiarity with US GAAP
• Proven team leadership skills is essential.
• Organized, meticulous and focused while working in fast paced/quickly changing environment requiring need to prioritize tasks and deliver on time
• Comfortable working with online tools (Google Drive, Sheets, etc), Office suite, Great Plains, Workday, Salesforce, ERP
• Bi-lingual
• Travel – up to 15% including international locations.
