JOB DESCRIPTION:

An opportunity to write code full-time in an upcoming maritime technology startup.

Working closely with the technology team and the chief coder, you will be responsible for creating web based user interfaces and mobile applications.

You may be navigating in uncharted waters, but you are joining a team that aggregates over a hundred years of industry experience. Less devops, and more coding, the role requires you to focus on building user interfaces and mobile applications on top of established frameworks.

If you are up for a challenge, you will even be writing backend Restful applications for the cloud.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

We expect applicants to possess working knowledge of:

- Must have UI/UX design experience in website designs and designing mobile & web applications

- PHP and bare minimum exposure to databases (any flavour)

- HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery and the ability to put these together to form coherent, responsive, and mobile-friendly interfaces

- Restful API’s, and be able to at least consume them using $.get, $.post and $.ajax

- Mobile application development (Android, Swift or Objective C)

Your application would be scrutinized further should you possess one or more of the following skills:

- Familiarity with Bootstrap

- The ability to write code in Angular JS

- An understanding of Git and the ability to at least clone, push and merge to a remote repository

In addition to the above, an exceptional candidate would also be:

- No stranger to Dockerfile and docker-compose

- Comfortable writing bash scripts

- Someone who knows why CORS preflight requests fail
