Site Ops Engineer
 
•    Overview:
To be a member of a Datacenter Operations team that manages large-scale server deployments. Must have a working experience in large-scale enterprise production environment. The Site Ops Engineer is responsible for the Data Center, server and parts inventories, internal customer deployments, racking, cabling, installation of server or any equipment’s that might be installed in a data center like network and storage devices etc.

•    Qualification:
o    Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline

•    Experience:
o    3 to 5 years of industry experience.

•    Required Skills/ Mandatory Skills:
o    Proven success working in Data Centers with ability to demonstrate prowess for adhering to standards for cabling, power management, security, etc.
o    Experience in a production operations environment
o    In depth knowledge of UNIX systems
o    Good understanding on performance monitoring tools
o    Good  knowledge of TCP/IP networks
o    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o    Ability to handle on-call duty and handle out-of band tasks

•    Desirable Skills:
o    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o    Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
o    Ability to handle on-call duty as well as out-of-band requests
o    Ability to work on shifts.

•    Job description:
o    Part of the team which has complete responsibility for racking, cabling, installation of server, power, cooling and physical security in the data center, part of a team that delivers the most 24 x 7 on-site coverage for the purposes of responding to emergencies, serving off-hour internal customer needs, and tasks that are routinely scheduled for the middle of the night such as upgrading servers. Maintain and share participation in an on-call schedule for 24 x 7 emergency response.
o    Responding to the needs of the Systems Administrators, Network Engineers and the entire Engineering Team. Work closely with sys admins/engineer/developer for their request of services from data center resources. Systems Administrators often require assistance with the data center infrastructure, such as wiring cross-connects or implementing console system units. The Network Team routinely deploys new rack switches and has new cables brought in and this must all be installed by the Data Center Team.
o     The Data Center Team is responsible for repairing all broken assets or RMA of spoilt equipment with the vendor and coordinating with them for repair, responsible for maintaining of inventory
o    Maintaining a secure environment for all expensive parts.
o    Keeping track of all equipment, including provider equipment at all locations.
